Do you know what the Prt Scrn key at the top of your keyboard is used for? Decades ago, when you pressed the Prt Scrn key,
what was on your screen was immediately sent to your printer. But things were a lot simpler back then;
Computers only displayed text on the screen. There were no graphics and Windows did not exist. There was only text-based DOS.
No drivers or software were needed to print text.
Now the Prt Scrn key has become an extra key that has virtually no use. But we are bringing back the Print Screen
functionality with the full feature of printing everything that is on your screen, including text and graphics,
at the exact moment you press the Prt Scrn key.
With the PrintScreen Now software on your computer any time you press the Prt Scrn key, the familiar
printer dialog box will appear. You can then print your entire screen to any printer that is connected to your computer,
including network printers and virtual printers such as PDF writers and fax software. It's that simple!
Does this sound too easy? It really is! Download a free trial of PrintScreen Now to find out for yourself.
How to use PrintScreen Now
After PrintScreen Now is installed on your computer, you should see its icon in the Windows system tray (also known as the Notification Area) located next to the system clock.
If you do not see this icon, the PrintScreen Now program probably isn't installed on your computer.
If you suspect that some of the icons from other programs are also missing, they may have been hidden.
Please see this helpful article from
MyDigitalLife for information on how to unhide the icons.
Whenever you want to print your screen, press the PrtScn key on your keyboard.
If you use a laptop/notebook computer (or a desktop with a mini keyboard), your PrtScn key might need to be used with a separate key.
Shown below is the PrtScn key that cannot be accessed by a single keypress. It must be used in conjunction with a separate Fn key.
This is the Fn key.
You must press both the Fn key and the PrtScn key at the same time.
Then you'll see the familiar printer dialog where you can choose any of your available printers. Select your printer and click Print.
